Why we are prone to hiring liars

When it comes to filling positions that call for high level sales skills like -  banking, advertising , Electrical, Electronic, Finance, Loans, automobiles, add whatever it is....we are prone to hiring deceptive candidates over honest ones, according to researchers from the University of Chicago and Johns Hopkins. That's because we are inclined to perceive the ability to deceive as a sign of competence in such professions, despite the fact that such behaviour can inflict major financial and reputational damage on companies. To diminish the appeal of deceivers, leaders can shift job requirements so they focus less on sales tactics and more on forging good relationships with customers.

Mostly this could be the behaviour of the people in higher hierarchy  -who is interviewing and selecting those types of candidates. He believes that these guys suist them. But for the organisation, it is a sign of danger. These deceptive peoples will disrupt everything and everyone.  After everything happened or when they got exposed - Finally they look and go to cheat other company. 

Companies should be very careful and beware with this type of persons. If this kind of person is placed in high position - he will drew the company to pathetic status for sure.

It is instead better and wiser of Organizations to invest in Employees with good old' values of Honesty, Integrity, Diligence and Personal Honour System, which would help them realize potential to become intergenerational brands rather than just being fly - by - night and disappear-by-day-break brands. The Newspapers are littered in India last year with dozens of corporate from banking, construction, building, housing, media, electronic durables, education, health care, aviation, luxury retail, diamonds etc that took short cuts to make ill gotten wealth in hundreds of millions to billions of dollars and ended up losing their Empires.
