Tamilnadu final candidates list for Lok Sabha and assembly by-polls

On friday, Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo announced the final list of candidates for elections. According to that, a total of 845 candidates will be contesting from 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu.

The Election Commission of India had given time to the candidates to withdraw their nominations for the elections till 3 pm on friday.

After that, on friday the Election Commission of India was released the final list of candidates contesting from each constituency for the Lok Sabha polls and Tamil Nadu assembly bye-polls.

Of the total 845 candidates, 779 are male, 65 are female and one is transgender.

Similarly, a total of 269 candidates have been announced in the final list for the bye-polls in 18 Tamilnadu assembly.

According to the final list, the highest number of candidates contesting for the polls with 42 candidates in Karur Lok Sabha constituency and Nilgiris constituency will have 10 candidates contesting will be the least in the state.In tamilnadu, Elections to 39 Lok Sabha seats are scheduled on April 18 in a single phase polling and the by-polls are also scheduled on April 18.
