Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy was sworn in as an additional judge of Madras High Court

On Friday, Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy was sworn in as an additional judge of Madras High Court. He would be the additional judge for a period of two years from the date he assumes charge of his office.
Chief Justice Vijaya Kamlesh Tahilramani administered the oath to Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy in a brief ceremony organized in high court.
Now, the strength of judges in the court has reached 60 as against the sanctioned strength of 75.
Earlier on tuesday, Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy was appointed as an adiitional judge of Madras high court. A released from the Union Ministry of Law and Justice said in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the constitution, President Ram Nath Kovind was pleased to appoint Mr Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy as the additional judge of the Madras high court.
Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy was born on October 2, 1966. He obtained his degree in Law in 1990. Then he completed his Post Graduation in Law in 1992 specializing in constitutional and international law from Madras Law College.
His area of work includes mining law, amalgamations and oppression and mismanagement petitions under the companies act, suits, writ petitions and arbitrations. He also acted as councel for many public sector undertakings and multinational companies.
