RBI will shortly introduce new Rs 20 currency notes

On Friday, RBI announced that it will shortly introduce new Rs 20 currency notes. The new Rs 20 currency notes will be in 'greenish yellow' with a Mahatma Gandhi (New) series and it will bear signature of the RBI governor Shaktikanta Das.
RBI said in a notification, "The base colour of the note is Greenish Yellow. The note has other designs with the geometric patterns aligning with the overall colour scheme both at the obverse and reverse".
RBI added, "The new Rs 20 denomination has motif of Ellora Caves on the reverse depicting the cultural country's heritage".
RBI further mentioned that all the banknotes in the denomination of Rs 20 issued by the Reserve Bank in the earlier series will continue to be legal tender.
The Dimension of the new Rs currency notes will be 63mm x 129mm.
