Plastic Banned from 1st March 2019 - Pondicherry Goverment

        Puducherry government to impose a ban on usage of plastic and was confirmed by Chief minister  V. Narayanasamy. This will come into effect from march 1, 2019.  Recently in TamilNadu state government banned plastic bag from jan 1 2019. now Puducherry government followed the idea

        Tamilnadu government imposed a ban on 14 types of plastic usage from jan 1, 2019. Following that,  now Puducherry government also imposed a ban on plastic usage. 

    On dec 31, 2018 BJP MLA  V Saminathan started a sudden dharna on the premises of Puducherry assembly by urging the government to ban the plastic usage,  sale and production like tamilnadu government. 

        Plastic bags have some unique Major problems. While their environmental costs are burdensome for communities and the planet, the cost of plastic bags for retailers is pretty low. Made from ethylene, a byproduct of petroleum or natural gas, plastic bags are so cheap and flimsy that cashiers use them freely, double bagging as a matter of course and often sticking just a few items in each bag.
