Low intensity Earthquake hits Bankura District of West Bengal
Jack May 26, 2019 15:28 ISTThe Indian Meteorological Department said that on sunday morning an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 on Richter scale hit Bankura district of West Bengal.
At around 10.39 AM, the tremors were felt in the Bankura district. The epicentre of the tremor was 10 km below the surface of earth at latitude 23.3 degrees north and longitude 86.9 degrees east.
An official said that no casualities or damage to property has been reported so far. Also, No tsunami warning has been issued.
Also on saturday, two medium intensity earthquakes with a magnitude of 5.0 and 4.8 on Richter scale hit Andaman and Nicobar Islands region at a depth of 10 km.
