ISRO launches Young Scientists Programme for 3 school students in each state and union territories
Jack Jan 19, 2019 11:30 ISTOn friday addressing the media, Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) Chairman Dr K Sivan announced the launches of "Young Scientists Programme" and to set up the 6 incubation centre across the country.
He said "Under Young Scientist programme at ISRO, three students from each state and union territories will be selected. They will be given lectures and theywill be given access to space agency's laboratories and practical experience of building a small satellite"
Mostly 8th std passed out students will be selected for one month programme. This programme will be funded entirely by ISRO.
Sivansaid "We want them to get a practical experience of building a small satellite. If the satellites are good, we want them to fly."
Alsothe ISRO has planned to conduct special programmes like Gaganyaan, Outreach programme, Planned missions, Vikram Sarabhai Centenary celebrations.
ISRO Chairman said "For Gaganyaan Program we have already placed a managementstructure in ISRO. First unmanned mission by December 2020, second unmanned mission by July 2021 and the real human space flight by December 2021." The spacecraft is designed to accommodate three people by ISRO and HAL.
