First time India will host a part of an International Army Games 2019

For the first time, India will host and participate in a major international army games 2019 involving eight countries in Jaisalmer, defence ministry officials said.
First time, The competition is being held in India under the Indian army and being organised by its Konark Corps at Jaisalmer Military Station. "The fifth Army International Scouts Masters Competition 2019 is being held in Jaisalmer, India. Participating countries are Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Zimbabwe, Armenia, Belarus, China and India", an officials said.
According to Colonel Aman Anand, an International Army Games will be conducted in five stages which will test the overall skills of mechanised infantry scouts in simulated battlefield scenarios. The combat skills will be adjudicated by a panel of international judges and referees.
Col Anand said that the Russian delegation, senior military and diplomatic dignitaries from participating countries visited Jaisalmer Military Station on May 14 and 15. The delegates were shown and briefed on the special training facilities at Jaisalmer and Pokhran.
The aim of the games is to enhance international military-to-military cooperation assist each other in proliferation of best practices to develop competitive spirit amongst scouts participating and display combat capabilities and characteristics of modern weapons and equipment.
Officials said that the Army Scout competition will be conducted from August 6 to August 14 for eight countries.
