Chennai Metro Rail-Free Rides

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tamilnadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami was inaugurated the Chennai Metro Rail from Washermanpet to Airport through Video-Conferencing from Tirupur.
The Metro Rail will reduce the travel time for a commuter from Washermanpet to the Airport. While by road, it may take about an hour and 45 minutes and by metro rail, it will take only 40 minutes. The drawback of this metro rail, the travel charge was high. So mostly people not prefer to travel in metro rail.
To impress people, Chennai Metro Rail Ltd(CMRL) announced free rides in metro rail for commuters across the entire 45 km from sunday 6 pm to monday night.
As per reports, Yesterday about 2 lakh passengers were used the metro rail. Now, CMPL will offer one more day free rides in metro. So, passengers can now enjoy the free rides in metro today also.
