Centre approved additional fund assistance (disaster) of Rs 7,214.03 Cr for six states and one UT
On tuesday, the Centre approved natural disaster assistance of Rs 7,214.03 crore for six states and one Union Territory. This decision was taken by high-level committee which was chaired by Union home minister Rajnath Singh.
In a statement, the Home Ministry said that the committee approved the additional central assistance of Rs 7,214.03 cr from National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF).
Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Agricultural minister Radha Mohan Singh and senior officers of the Ministries of Home Affairs, Finance, Agriculture and NITI Aayog were also present in the meeting.
Due to natural disaster, the additional fund was sanctioned to six states and one Union territory are Gujarat for drought, Andhra pradesh for drought, Karnataka for drought, Maharashtra for drought, Uttar Pradesh for floods, Himachal Pradesh for floods and landslides, Puducherry for Gaja cyclone.
The highest amount was sanctioned to Maharashtra of Rs 4,714.28 cr.
The amount sanctioned were
Karnataka - Rs 949.49 cr
Andhra Pradesh - Rs 900.40 cr
Gujarat - Rs 127.60 cr
Uttar Pradesh - Rs 191.73 cr
Himachal Pradesh - Rs 317.44 cr
Puducherry - Rs 13.09 cr.
