On thursday with an immediate effect, the appointment committee of cabinet has removed Rakesh asthana and three more officers in CBI.
Centre said that the Gujarat-cadre IPS officer Rakesh asthana, joint director Arun kumar sharma, Deputy inspector general Manish kumar sinha and Superintendent of police Jayant J Naiknavare have been removed from their post.
There was a fued between Alok verma and Rakesh asthana. Both of them were sent on forced leave by the government. And their powers were stripped. Both of them were accused against each other for corruption. Then the supreme court said to reinstated verma.
Earlier Ex-CBI cheif Alok verma was sacked from CBI by modi led panel. After that alok verma was appointed in fire serives chief. But Alok verma was refused to accept that new post.
To select a new CBI chief the centre has called a meeting of modi-led panel on jan 24. The additional director Nageshwar rao took charge as interim CBI director.
