Anna University Vice-Chancellor Surappa quits from TNEA
Jack Feb 28, 2019 06:24 ISTAnna University vice chancellor MK Surappa has quits from the post of Chairman, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission and Tamil Nadu General Postgraduation admission committee.
Mangatram Sharma was a member of this TNEA committee, who is the chief secretary of higher education of Tamilnadu government. He announced himself that he would be the coordinator for the committee.
To express his opposition to this, M K Surappa, Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Engineering selection Committee and also the Chairman of the Tamil Nadu General Postgraduation admission committee. He has resigned from these posts.
He has sent his resignation letter to the office of the Higher Education Department.
He has also written a letter to the government to handover the counselling process to the Directorate of Technical Education.
For the last 22 years, Anna University had been conducting counseling for the admission to the engineering courses of Tamil Nadu.
Now, Anna University has withdrawn from participating in engineering course admissions counselling for the academic year 2019-20.
Due to the withdrawal of the Anna University, The Technical Education Council is set to conduct the counseling for the engineering course admission in 2019-20.
