Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu met President Ramnath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan
Jack Feb 12, 2019 19:13 ISTOn Tuesday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met the president Ramnath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
Chandrababu Naidu along with all the MPs, MLAs and MLCs of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) marched a padayatra that began from the Andhra Bhavan to Rashtrapati Bhavan.
After that Chandrababu Naidu submitted a memorandum with 18 demands including Bifurcation act promises and special status for Andhra Pradesh to the President Ramnath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
During the press meet, Chandrababu Naidu said, "We met the president and apprised him for our demands. The central government has ignored the AP bifurcation act promises. The Modi government is passing the time without releasing the grants to the state. For the development of Hyderabad they have struggled for 60 years, and today it's standing as a best world-class city. On seeing the injustice done to AP many people went into depression and recently a physically challenged man Arjun Rao has committed suicide for special status for the state. TDP MPs are continuously fighting in Parliament demanding special status to AP".
On Monday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu sat a day-long fast protest 'Dharma Porata Deeksha' at Andhra Bhavan in New Delhi for demanding special status of his state. Opposition parties leaders were AICC president Rahul Gandhi, Former PM Manmohan Singh, NCP chief Farooq Abdullah, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and other prominent leaders have visited the portest place at Andhra Bhavan and said their support.
