‘Avengers’ breaks Bollywood and World records

Avengers: Endgame has earned more than Rupees 400 crore within two weeks of its India release. Data from Koimoi showsthe Marvel Comics movie is now the second biggest box office hit ever in India,surpassing Bollywood blockbusters such as Dangal (387.39 crore) and Sanju (341.22crore). Experts believe the move to release Endgame in multiple local languages-Hindi,Tamil and Telugu-and the lack of competition in its release weekcontributed to the film's success. Globally, Endgame has grossed more than 2 billion dollar (14,000crore).

Avengers: Endgame phenomenal success shows that Bollywood has to change. MarvelStudios multi-starrer movie Avengers Endgame has taken the world by storm. The film which has so far crossed more than 2 Billion dollar worldwide and is set to surpass Avatar to become world's highest-earning movie. And it has been aroaring success in India as well. It is the 1st Hollywood film to cross Rs. 300crore mark at the Indian box office. Unprecedented craziest thing was that,while most cinema halls in India are not allowed to play movie shows post-midnight but several multiplexes have been allowed toremain open round the clock to show 'Endgame.' This decision has beenvindicated as most of the shows, which were as early as 6 am, were sold out.Leading multiplex theatre chains INOX and PVR dedicated 90 percent and 70percent of their respective screens in the first week to play this movie. Despite a Handicap 'Endgame' released across 2845 screens in India in Hindi, English,Tamil and Telugu which is considerably lesser than about 4,000 screens, aprivilege which a typical big-budget Hindi movie enjoys. But as explainedearlier, more shows and higher ticket prices made up for this constrainthelping it sweep the box office.
